Pune: The two beat marshals from the Khadki Police Stations, Samadhan Koli and Sanjog Shinde, were hit by a four-wheeler on Sunday night.
Koli was killed on the spot while Shinde was injured seriously. The accused in the hit-and-run case has been arrested.
Minutes before the accident, the policemen were on patrol. They saw an 11-year-old minor girl at a bus stop in Khadki. They enquired with the girl and took her parent’s phone number. They immediately contacted her parents and asked for their residential address. They came to know that the girl was a resident of Pimple Saudagar. They called her parents to the spot, verified their identities and handed over her to them. They also posted a photo with the girl on the police WA group.
Then they were heading towards Bopodi through Khadki Bazar when the four-wheeler dashed their bike. Koli died while Shinde received serious injuries in the accident.
