Pune: Vadgaon Maval Court Awards Relief to Dharmendra and Hema Malini in Land Purchase Agreement Case
Pune: In a sigh of relief to actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini, senior civil judge Rahul Shinde of the Vadgaon Maval Court dismissed a plea filed by the grandsons of the original owner, seeking cancellation of the purchase deed of the land purchased by both actors in 1985.
In his verdict, Judge Shinde ruled in favour of Dharmendra and Hema Malini and refused to cancel the purchase deeds of the actors.
In the year 1985, Dharmendra Deol and his wife Hema Malini purchased land in Vadgaon Maval Taluka from a local farmer, Shrikant Khire. However, Kisan Mankar, the grandson of the original owner, challenged this purchase deed and claimed in the Vadgaon Maval Court that the purchase deed of the land should be cancelled.
In this case, Ad. Amit Rathi, Ad. Raju Shinde, and Ad. Aditya Jadhav appeared on behalf of Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Ad. Rathi filed an application in court, claiming that the relevant claim of the petitioner was out of date. He said, “The original owners of the land knew about the purchase of the land in 1985. At that time, they did not follow any legal process. Now, after 37 years, this claim has been filed to extort money.”
Shrikant Khire purchased the land on June 12, 1985, from Vasant Mankar, Shivaji Mankar, and Yamunabai Jambhulkar. Another sale deed of the concerned land was executed in favour of Khire. The actors then entered into a land purchase agreement with Khire. Therefore, Mankar’s lawyers argued that the sale deed in favour of Khire is fake and should be cancelled. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court ruled in favour of Dharmendra and Hema Malini.
