Pune: History-sheeter, accomplice arrested for carrying pistols at Seven Loves Chowk
Pune: A history-sheeter was carrying a pistol to impress his friends. The police arrested him and his accomplice for illegally possessing two pistols and three live cartridges. The firearms and ammunition have been seized from them.
The arrested accused have been identified as Shubham Anil Shinde (24), a resident of Maharshi Nagar and Siddhesh Ashok Shigvan (19), a resident of Gultekdi. Shinde had given a pistol to Shigvan. Hence, he was also arrested.
Shubham Shinde was earlier booked for fighting and making an illegal assembly of people at the Swargate and Vishrambaug police stations.
Policeman Harshal Dudam lodged a complaint at the Khadak Police Station.
According to the police, Shubham Shinde had the habit of impressing his friends. He purchased two country-made pistols three-four months ago and gave one to Shigvan. Both were hanging the pistols to their waists at Seven Loves Chowk. API Anil Suravase, PSI Pralhad Dongale, policemen Thavare, Jadhav, Dhavare and Chavan were patrolling when they got a tip-off that Shinde and Shigvan were standing at Seven Loves Chowk and were carrying pistols.
They reached the spot and detained the duo. The police frisked them and found a pistol and two cartridges with Shubham Shinde and a pistol and a cartridge with Shigvan. They have been arrested and API Suravase is investigating the matter.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Sr PI Shashikant Chavan and PI Sharmila Sutar. The investigation team comprised API Anil Suravase, PSI Pralhad Dongale, policemen Harshal Dudam, Kiran Thavare, NItin Jadhav, Lakhan Dhavare, Ashish Chavan, Irfan Nadaf, Pramod Bhosale, Akshaykumar Sable, Samir Bhorde, Bhalchandra Divate, Krushna Gaikwad, Mayur Kale, Santosh Bargaj, Umesh Mathpati and Shekhar Kharade.
