Pune: Bibvewadi Resident Takes His Own Life Amid Marital Disputes and POCSO Allegations
Pune: Under the depression of a suit filed by his wife for divorce and alimony and the registration of a complaint under the POCSO Act against him in the molestation of a girl, a 27-year-old individual from Bibvewadi committed suicide by hanging. Before the suicide, the individual wrote a suicide note in which he held the harassment from his wife and father-in-law responsible for his suicide.
The deceased individual is named Tejas Tanaji Chalekar, and he was a resident of Indira Nagar, Bibvewadi. In this regard, the mother of the deceased individual, Shila Tanaji Chalekar (age 47), a resident of Nasrapur, Taluka Bhor, filed a complaint at Bibvewadi Police Station.
Accordingly, police registered a complaint against Aishwarya Vijay Pingle, Vijay Namdeo Pingle, Shital Vijay Pingle, all residents of Paud, Mulshi, Rushikesh alias Bhai Sunil Khedkar, Sunil Shivling Khedkar, and Bhushan Sunil Khedkar, all residents of Nasrapur, Taluka Bhor.
As per the police information, Tejas and Aishwarya were married to each other. However, because of constant arguments between them, they were living separately. Tejas’ wife filed a suit for divorce and alimony in court. Because of this, Tejas was in a depression.
Meanwhile, a POCSO case was registered against Tejas on the complaint of the girl. Frustrated by all this, Tejas Chalekar committed suicide at midnight on August 9 by hanging. Before committing suicide, Tejas wrote a note in which he said that he was committing suicide because of the harassment from his wife and father-in-law.
Assistant Police Inspector Nakumbh is investigating the case.
