Pune: Ajit Pawar expresses displeasure over lack of cleanliness around temple in Ravivar Peth (Video)

Pune: NCP (AP) President Ajit Pawar inaugurated a jewellery store in Ravivar Peth at 9 am on Friday. Later, local residents insisted that he should visit the Shri Ram Mandir built by the Maheshwari community in the area. Pawar agreed to it.
He saw a heap of garbage in front of the temple and commented, “It is a huge temple but why has nearby garbage not been cleaned? Cleanliness should be maintained around the temple.” The trustees had no answer to his query.
More was in store as he went around the temple. Pawar saw dust gathered on a fan. He also came across a curtain of strings while entering the sanctum sanctorum. Pawar said, “Many devotees visit the temple. Maintain cleanliness, this is not done.” Then the trustees said that they were made aware of the issue by him and would improve the conditions around the temple.
While leaving the temple, Pawar asked the sanitary workers present when they would remove the garbage. They replied to him saying that it was merely mud. Pawar greeted them with folded hands sarcastically. This triggered laughter.
