In a heroic rescue on Bhau Beej, a team of firefighters rushed to Krishna Kanhaiya Society in Wanwadi after receiving reports of a brother and sister trapped inside their second-floor flat, locked from within. The timely intervention of these brave personnel saved the lives of the siblings on this auspicious day.

The incident occurred on November 3, when the firefighters were alerted to a distressing situation at Krishna Kanhaiya Society. Upon arrival, the firefighting team immediately coordinated with local police and the duo’s mother to understand the situation. During this, they learnt that the siblings, a 19-year-old brother and his 24-year-old sister, had locked themselves inside and were allegedly planning to end their lives due to mental stress.

With urgency, the firefighters set to work, recognising the criticality of each passing moment. Using fire extinguishers, specialised door-breaking tools, and other equipment, they managed to break through the locked door within ten minutes. Entering the flat, they found the siblings lying unconscious, both having ingested poisonous medicines in a suspected suicide attempt.

The firefighters acted quickly and immediately admitted the siblings to a nearby private hospital for emergency treatment. Medical staff later confirmed that the siblings’ conditions had stabilised and their lives were saved due to the swift response of the firefighting team. After this incident, firefighters were thanked by the people.
