Pune: 10 arrested for online gambling through Reddy Anna betting web portal
Valuables worth Rs 17.50 lakh, SIM card, Aadhaar card seized; fake bank account frozen
Pune: Ten people were arrested for illegal online gambling on banned betting web portal, Reddy Anna. Valuables worth over Rs 7.48 lakh were seized from their possession.
Policeman Sandesh Shivram Jadhav lodged a complaint at the Ravet Police Station in this regard. Later, Piyush Sheshnarayan Soni (19), Muneshwar Churanand Devagan (19), Ajay Arunkumar Sinha (24), Sanjaymanik Pardeshimanik Puri (27), Aniket Hemant Yadav (19), Akshay Amin Asthana (27), Fulendra Ashokrai Kumar (27), all residents of Adam Ville society, Punawale, were arrested. Akash Das alias Jack has been booked in this connection.
According to the police, they got a tip-off that online gambling was going on in a flat at the Adam Ville society in Gaikwad Nagar, Punawale. The police raided the place at around 9.45 pm on Sunday. The accused were gambling online through the banned web portal Reddy Anna for the financial benefit of themselves and others by making a conspiracy.
They were cheating common people by opening a fake bank account and by using a SIM card, a computer and a mobile app. Equipment meant for online gambling worth over Rs 7.48 lakh were seized from them. API Deshmukh was investigating the case.
