Pune: A youth raised ‘Ek Maratha, Lakh Maratha’ slogan in the VVIP enclosure during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Pune on Tuesday (November 12), which led to chaos for some time as the police and BJP workers tried to pacify the protester.
As the rally progressed, the man started raising the slogan. Though the police personnel present at the spot asked him to sit down, he became more aggressive. Later, some police officials and BJP workers took him away from the enclosure. However, this led to chaos for some time.
The Maratha quota agitation stirred the political atmosphere in the State recently. Rallies were held led by quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil across the State. The community came together and agitated. Jarange Patil has now asked his supporters to defeat candidates of the Maha Yuti as the ruling combine failed to fulfil their demands.
In this backdrop, a Maratha community member became aggressive during the Maha Yuti’s rally addressed by PM Modi. This raised a question if the new government would solve the issue.
