Pune: Khadakwasla MLA Bhimrao Tapkir Likely to Get Advantage of Earlier Developmental Works in the Constituency
Pune:
As election day approaches, Bhimrao Tapkir, the sitting BJP MLA from Khadakwasla constituency, is leaving no stone unturned in his re-election campaign. With less than a week remaining, Tapkir is actively engaging with voters, highlighting his developmental work as a key factor in his bid for another term.
Tapkir’s flagship achievement, a solar power project scheme implemented in eight residential societies in the Warje Malwadi area, has garnered widespread appreciation. Society members have credited this initiative with drastically reducing electricity bills, providing significant financial relief to residents.
Under the scheme, Tapkir allocated Rs 1 crore 10 lakh from his MLA funds to install solar power systems in societies such as Suyog Aura A, Vasudha Etasha, Atulnagar A, Atulnagar B, Ishan Nagari, Ishan Sankul, and Rahul Park. The project funding was structured with 75% of the costs covered by MLA funds and the remaining 25% contributed by public donations from the societies.
This initiative has transformed energy consumption in these societies. Previously, monthly electricity bills for common facilities in a society with 250 flats exceeded Rs 50,000. With the solar power project in place, the bill has been slashed to just Rs 1,000 per month, residents said.
“Around Rs 90 lakh has been sanctioned for similar projects in eight more societies, and the work is ongoing,” Tapkir further announced during a campaign rally. “The goal is to expand this solar energy initiative across all societies in the constituency, ensuring significant savings for citizens and reducing the need for fuel-based power generation,” Tapkir said during the rally.
