Pune: Crime Branch Unit 4 Nabs Two Accused with Pistols, Foils Crime Plot in Yerawada

In a significant action, a team of Unit 4 of the Crime Branch apprehended two criminals who were standing in Gunjan Chowk with pistols in preparation for committing the crime and seized 2 pistols and 2 live cartridges from them. The arrested individuals have been identified as Aniket Raju Sathe (age 21, a resident of Gadital, Yerawada) and Aditya Satish Ghamre (age 21, a resident of Gadital, Yerawada).
In the background of assembly elections in the state, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balkawade, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle had ordered that preventive action should be taken against the suspects, the on-record vehicle thieves, burglars, criminals, and Tadipar criminals if they were found committing any crime.
Accordingly, the team of Unit 4 was patrolling in the Yerawada area. While police had gone near the Lakshmi Nagar vegetable market, Police Sub-Inspector Vaibhav Magdum got information from an informant that two on-record criminals, Aniket Raju Sathe and Aditya Ghamre, were sitting near the Sargam Hotel in Gunjan Chowk with pistols and they were planning to commit some crime.
Subsequently, the team of police officers went near the Sargam Hotel to confirm the news. After reaching there, police saw two people sitting by the wall of the society. The police then detained both individuals. When their body was frisked, police found two country-made pistols and two live cartridges in their pocket worth Rs 1 lakh 2 thousand. Subsequently, both the accused had been handed over to Yerawada police station for further investigation.
