Tuljapur: A political storm rose in Virar hours ahead of polling for the State elections on Tuesday (November 19). MVA workers gheraoed BJP leader Vinod Tawde when he was allegedly distributing money. MVA leader Hitendra Thakur alleged that Tawde distributed Rs 5 crore. Moreover, Tawde’s diary had an entry of Rs 15 crore.

The political atmosphere in the State heated up after the incident. Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray reacted to this. He said, “My bag was checked today also. Who will check Vinod Tawde’s bag? Anil Deshmukh was attacked in Nagpur. Stones were hurled at him. Who would check stones?”

Thackeray was in the temple town to seek blessings of Goddess Tulja Bhavani and prayed that an MVA government would come to power after the State Assembly elections. He also commented on the money distribution allegation.
