Pune: Nigdi Police Arrest Metro Supervisor along with One Other for Stealing Metro’s Iron Worth Rs 20 Lakh

Every day, different types of theft incidents took place in the city. However, the recent theft incident that took place at Maha Metro has astounded everyone. In the latest case, the Metro supervisor stole Metro’s iron worth Rs 20 lakhs along with a truck driver. In this regard, police have arrested the Metro supervisor and truck driver.
The incident took place on the metro route between Bhakti Shakti Bus Depot in Nigdi and Khandoba Mal Chowk in Akurdi between September 10, 2024, and January 25, 2025.
The names of the arrested accused are Supervisor Harishchandra Sunil Kumar (a resident of Nigdi) and truck driver Mohammad Anib Patel (a resident of Moshi). General Manager Ravi Rediyar (Talawade) filed a complaint in this matter at Nigdi Police Station on Monday, January 27.
The construction work of the metro line between Pimpri and Nigdi is underway in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Metro has appointed Ravi Rediyar’s ‘Anant Sky Infratech Agency’ to monitor the materials used in this work. Police informed that the accused, Harishchandra Kumar, was working for this company and was appointed as a supervisor by this agency.
While working as a supervisor, Harishchandra stole 40 tonnes of iron worth Rs 20 lakh from the metro site between Bhakti Shakti Chowk and Khandoba Mal Chowk, along with truck driver Mohammad Patel, between September 10, 2024, and January 25, 2025.
This incident was revealed during a Metro inspection. After that, a case was registered in this regard, and police have arrested both the accused.
