Shobhatai R Dhariwal English School, Belgaum-Karnataka dedicated to people
Pune: The Shantisagar Welfare Society President and office-bearers requested RMD Foundation Vice-President Shobhatai R Dhariwal to open an English medium school in the rural area of Kudachi (Belgaum-Karnataka) as students from the area had to go to the taluka place to study in an English medium school.
As per their request, an English medium school building was built and was dedicated to the people on Sunday (January 9) in a ceremony. The school trustees, students, parents and local leaders and youths were present in a large number. Parents and students were happy as their wish to study in an English medium school in their area was fulfilled. All of them thanked the RMD Foundation.
On this occasion, RMD Foundation President Janhavi Dhariwal-Balan gave details about the work being carried out by the Foundation across the country.
The Foundation’s work includes formidable contributions to the fields of education, environment and health. Many such projects are still underway. A mega blood donation camp is held every year on the birth anniversary of Rasiklal M Dhariwal in Koregaon Park on March 1. Tree plantation drives are conducted throughout the year, including the scheme ‘Ek Zaad Aichya Navane – Tree Plantation and Conservation’. Smart boards are distributed to students in rural, urban and tribal areas to acquire technical knowledge under the Shobhatai Smart Class Scheme.
Awareness is spread and training is imparted to students and others to make paper bags to reduce the use of plastic bags, which are not environment friendly. ‘Pyau’, drinking water points are provided at public places such as temples, schools, colleges, public gardens, government hospitals, etc. A marathon is held at Ranjangaon Ganpati every year.
Destitute women and women from families of farmers committing suicide are imparted employment skills in the Vidarbha region through the Shobhatai R Dhariwal Udyog Nagari.
The Sau Shobhatai Shetki Prashikshan Kendra (Muktangan), Nimgaon-Madha, Solapur has been set up to train farmers in modern agricultural practices throughout the year. Moreover, scholarships are awarded to deserving students pursuing medical education.
