Pune: The Pune Police took three days to nab the culprit in the Swargate bus stand rape case. Earlier, Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam said that the woman was raped because she did not raise an alarm. Such an insensitive statement by a state minister has enraged people across the State.

Addressing a press meet in the city on Thursday, Kadam tried his best to cover inefficiency of the police. He squarely blamed the depot manager for the incident.

Kadam said, “A neurotic person indulges in a sweet talk with the woman. He brainwashes her within a few minutes. We all know what happened later. But, there was absolutely no commotion at the spot, no argument between the accused and the victim. Everything happened in a peaceful manner. The victim did not raise an alarm.

“So, people present around the spot did not come to know about it. We will come to know exactly what happened after the accused is arrested.”
