Pune: Mercury touches 39 degrees Celsius in Koregaon Park
Pune: The mercury has risen further in the first week of March. On Tuesday (March 4), a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius was reported in Koregaon Park in the city while it was 38 degrees Celsius in Lohegaon.
Citizens have been reeling under warm weather conditions from the last week of February. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that temperatures would remain stable for 2-3 days and would rise again later.
Maximum temperature has been increasing for the past some days while minimum temperature has been dipping. Thus, weather remains chilly at night and early in the morning while scorching heat is experienced in the afternoon. On Tuesday, a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius were recorded in the city.
On Wednesday (March 5), the met office predicted a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius. The sky would remain clear throughout the day.
