Pune: 13 Gang Members from Tipu Pathan and Firoz Shaikh Gangs Booked Under MCOCA

Pune: In a major crackdown on organized crime, Pune Police have invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against 13 notorious criminals from two gangs the Tipu Sattar Pathan gang and the Firoz Mohammad Shaikh gang for spreading terror in the areas of Kale Padal and Loni Kalbhor.
Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil approved the MCOCA charges against these individuals due to their repeated involvement in serious crimes such as extortion, robbery, land grabbing, and drug trafficking.
Tipu Sattar Pathan Gang:
Tipu Sattar Pathan (34), the gang leader from Khwaja Manzil, Sayyadnagar, Mohammadwadi, and his associates Ijaz Sattar Pathan (39), Nadeem Babar Khan (41), Saddam Salim Pathan (29), Ejaz Yusuf Inamdar Patel (33), Sajid Zibrail Nadaf (25), and Irfan Nasir Shaikh (26), all from Sayyadnagar, Hadapsar have been booked under MCOCA. The gang reportedly attempted to forcibly acquire land from a woman and have a history of violent crimes including dacoity, extortion, and illegal drug trade.
Firoz Mohammad Shaikh Gang:
Similarly, Firoz Mohammad Shaikh (29), gang leader from Ghorpade Vasti, Kadamwakvasti, along with Prasad Dattatraya Jethithor (20), Aslam Anwar Shaikh (25), Aditya Pralhad Kalane, and two juveniles, have also been charged under MCOCA. The gang is accused of attempting murder, unlawful assembly, use of deadly weapons, and spreading fear and intimidation in the Loni Kalbhor area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Rajkumar Shinde stated that this action is part of an ongoing effort to suppress organized crime in the city. In the past four months, six MCOCA cases have been registered under Pune Police’s Zone 5 to tackle gang-related activities effectively.
