Pimpri: Commissioner of Police (CP) Vinoy Kumar Choubey has warned of strict action against those who indulge in eve-teasing at venues of ‘Dandiya’ and ‘Garba’ gatherings.

CP Choubey also instructed police stations, crime branch officers and personnel to patrol on foot to curb untoward incidents during the Navratri festival.

CP Choubey visited offices within the limits of three zones and reviewed security arrangements in the backdrop of Navratri. He also instructed the incharge officers of 18 police stations. DCPs Sandeep Doiphode, Vishal Gaikwad, Swapna Gore and Dr Shivaji Pawar and ACPs Sachin Hire and Mugutlal Patil and Rajendrasinh Gour were present.

CP Choubey instructed officials that necessary security should be provided at Dandiya/Garba venues. Patrolling should be done around gardens, open grounds and crowded public places. Care should be taken that stray animals do not enter crowded places.
