Prize distribution held for state-level fort-making competition organised by Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust
85 competitors take part in the contest
Pune: The prize distribution ceremony for the State-level Fort-Making Competition 2024 was held on Sunday (November 17). The contest was organised by Hindustan’s first Ganesh mandal Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust. As many as 85 competitors took part in it. The fort made by the Swarajya Daulat Durganath Pratishthan’s ‘Purandar Ghera’ was adjudged the best fort.
The Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust organised the State-level Online Fort-Making Competition. The prize distribution ceremony for the contest was held at the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Mandir on Sunday. Senior historian, forts researcher Pandurang Balkawade and HV Desai College HOD Ganesh Raut were the Chief Guests.
The first prize was Rs 9,000, the second Rs 7,000 and the third Rs 5,000 in the competition. Ayush Patil got the first prize in the Mumbai Division. He made a model of the Suvarnadurg fort. The second prize went to the Omkar Mitra Mandal Saras Bhed Durg. The third prize winner was the Gharkul Mitra Mandal for their replica of the Pratapgad fort.
In the Konkan Division, the Adarsh Mitra Mandal won the first prize for their Vellore-Sajra-Gojra fort. The second prize went to the Ashtapradhan Mandal for their Raigad fort model.
In the Western Maharashtra Division, the Sangli-based Swarajya Daulat Durganath Pratishthan’s the Purandar-Vajragad-Purandar Ghera fort got the first prize. The second prize was given to the Mirajkar family for a live scene of the Sinhagad fort. The third prize was won by the Vijeta Tarun Mandal, Sangli for their Kille Ahivantgad and Kille Markandeya.
Purandar Ghera adjudged the best
The Swarajya Daulat Durganath Pratishthan’s the Purandar Ghera, which comprised 11 forts, was found to be the best among all forts made by the competitors. It won a cash prize of Rs 11,000.
Two consolation prizes, comprising a memento and a certificate, were given to a junior competitor, Ved Inamdar, for his Malhargad and women’s group Swayambhu Garjana’s Raigad.
