Pune: NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule expressed the confidence that voters will teach a lesson to the inactive MLA from the Vadgaon Sheri Assembly constituency. MVA candidate Bapusaheb Pathare will win the election.

Sule was addressing a poll rally at the Krantiveer Lahuji Vastad Salve Sabhagruha, Laxmi Nagar in Yerwada on Friday (November 8) evening. Her speech enthused the audience. She came down heavily on the State Government’s ostentatious spending, corruption, directionless governance, regressive policies, blabbering, a lowered level of poll campaign and sitting MLA Sunil Tingre’s inaction.

MP Supriya Sule said, “Some people (Ajit Pawar) claim that they provided opportunities to other people. They claim credit for other people’s success. But they do not say that the party has helped them to grow. Now, they are talking of exposing others. It is not appropriate to speak in the same language. But if you dig out somebody’s past, then we also know your past. We will not indulge in such tactics but we will give you a fitting reply.

“There is no point in speaking about what the sitting MLA did in the past five years. We will have to start from scratch. We will have to make a new beginning. Bapusaheb Pathare should promise me that if an accident takes place within this constituency, he will rush to hospital and not to the police station (referring to MLA Sunil Tingre rushing to the police station to save the minor in the hit-and-run case in Kalyani Nagar).”

Senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sushma Andhare, MVA candidate Bapusaheb Pathare and office-bearers were present on the dais.

Balasaheb Thorat said, “The MVA is unitedly contesting the elections. The unity is seen in Vadgaon Sheri too. Bapusaheb Pathare will win with a huge margin.”

In a hard-hitting speech, Sushma Andhare said, “’Badmashgiri’ (dishonesty) is prevailing in Vadgaon Sheri. The sitting MLA is busy constructing buildings over nullahs, which has caused floods. On the contrary, the Pathares have been helping flood-affected people.”

Bapusaheb Pathare expressed the confidence that he would win. He said, “I have an emotional bond with my constituency. I completely trust my voters. They will not support frivolous people and will give the responsibility of the segment’s development to the MVA. I promise to you that Pune will be made ultra-modern by planning its infrastructural development.”

He reiterated his commitment that he would always be available for voters and would be responsible to them.
