Three Men Nabbed in Pimpri Chinchwad for Carrying Unlicensed Firearms; Police Seize 3 Pistols and 5 Cartridges From Them

Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad police arrested three people in two separate incidents for illegally possessing firearms with them. The names of the arrested individuals are Prafulla Rajendra Dhokane (age 26, a resident of Anand Park, Thergaon Phata, Thergaon), Abhishek Pandurang Gosavi (age 29, a resident of Kakade Township, Keshav Nagar, Chinchwadgaon), and Kumar Bhimanna Kurade (age 22, a resident of Padal, Taluka Panhala, District Kolhapur).

In the first incident, the Wakad police arrested two people for illegally carrying country-made pistols and seized three such pistols and five live cartridges from them, acting on the complaint of Police Ammaldar Tausif Elahi Sheikh.

As per the police information, Police Sub-Inspector Jagtap, Constable Medage, Police Ammaldar Tausif Sheikh, Mohite, and Velapure were patrolling in the Pimpri Chinchwad police station limits. At that time, Sheikh and Mohite received information that two people were standing on the footpath in front of Moru Barne Park, and they were carrying pistols. After confirming this news, the police immediately reached the spot.

As soon as two people were seen standing there, the police swiftly surrounded them and caught them. In the subsequent frisk, police found a country-made pistol and 2 cartridges in the magazine with Prafulla Dhokane. Similarly, Abhishek Gosavi was also found in possession of a country-made pistol and 1 cartridge in a magazine.

Accordingly, police seized 2 pistols and 3 live cartridges worth Rs 1 lakh 3 thousand from them. Assistant Police Inspector Shweta Ghorpade is conducting further investigations in this case.

The second incident took place in the Mohan Nagar area of Chinchwad. In this regard, Police Ammaldar Sameer Lakshman Dhavale lodged a complaint at Pimpri Police Station. Accordingly, police arrested Kumar Bhimanna Kurade (age 22, a resident of Padal, Taluka Panhala, District Kolhapur).

While the officers of the investigation team of Pimpri police station were patrolling, they got information that a man was standing with a pistol on the road in front of the new MHADA building in Mohan Nagar. Accordingly, the police caught him. When his body was searched, police found a pistol worth Rs 51 thousand and two live cartridges in his possession. Assistant Police Inspector Guling is investigating further in this case.
