33 Bangladeshi-Rohingya infiltrators nabbed in Pimpri-Chinchwad last year; highest number of Bangladeshi found in Bhosari

Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police arrested 33 Bangladeshi infiltrators within the limits of the Police Commissionerate last year. Hundreds of industrial units operate in the industrial township. Therefore, people belonging to various regions, religions have settled here to earn their living. Meanwhile, the number of Bangladeshi infiltrators has increased.

Earlier, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police arrested Bangladeshi and Rohingyas in Mahalunge, Nigdi, Pimpri, Bhosari, Bhosari MIDC, Sangvi, Dapodi, Chakan, Talegaon MIDC and Dehu Road areas. The highest number of Bangladeshis were found in Bhosari. As many as 12 Bangladeshis were arrested from Bhosari last year. They were staying illegally using forged documents in the area. Fake Aadhar, PAN and other documents were recovered from their possession.

Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey said, “It is the responsibility of the police to trace culprits, who prepare such fake documents. Among the 33 arrested Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, some were holding illegal passports, which were cancelled. The drive to search for such illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas will be intensified.”
