52nd State-Level Junior Judo Tournament presented by Punit Balan Group inaugurated in Jalgaon

Jalgaon: The 52nd State-Level Junior Judo Tournament, presented by Punit Balan Group (PBG) and organised by the Maharashtra Judo Association and Jalgaon District Amateur Judo Association, is being held on November 1 and 2 at the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj District Sports Complex here.

As many as 80 teams comprising 350 players from 30 districts, along with their managers, coaches and referees, are participating in the competitions.

Saturday (November 1) was the first day of the tournament, which is being held under the leadership of the Maharashtra Judo Association and Jalgaon District Judo Association President Vishnu Bhangale. The competitions being held in a district place such as Jalgaon has encouraged judo players from rural and backward areas and has also promoted the sport.

The tournament is being held under the guidance of Maharashtra Judo Association President Shailesh Tilak and its Secretary Datta Aphale. MLA Mama Bhongle inaugurated the event on Saturday. Maharashtra Judo Association President Shailesh Tilak, Jain Irrigation’s Ravindra Dharmadhikari, Maharashtra Judo Association Treasurer Ravindra Metkar, Parola Municipal Council CEO Kishor Chavan, Ganesh Shetkar, Director Anil Deshmukh, Mahesh Patil, Judo International Referee Vijay Yadav, Tournament Director Amol Desai, State Softball Association Secretary and Shiv Chhatrapati Award recipient Pradip Talvelkar, Technical Member Atul Bamnodkar, Sachin Devale, Vrushali Legras, Maharashtra Judo Association Vice-President Adv. Vikas Patil, Technical Committee President Darshana Lakhani and other eminent people were present. Jyoti Patil and Mahesh Patil compered the inauguration ceremony.

Dr Umesh Patil, Yogesh Mahajan, Atul Gorade, Ajay Kashid, Digambar Mahajan, Sachin Wagh, Dr Chand Khan, Ashfaq Shaikh, office-bearers of the Jalgaon District Amateur Judo Association, are working hard to make the event a big success. State Water Supply Minister and District Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil, newly elected Rajya Sabha Member and renowned Lawyer Ujjawal Nikam, MP Smita Wagh and several other prominent people will be present during the concluding ceremony on Sunday (November 3).
