Pune: A big opportunity awaits youths. Those who have completed their education from Std XII to graduation can apply for the 650 vacancies made available under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana. Under the scheme, youths will get an opportunity to work for six months in various departments of the civic body.
How much is the salary?
The youths selected under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana will get a salary in the form of a scholarship. Candidates who have passed Std XII will get Rs 6,000, ITI or diploma-holders will get Rs 8,000 and graduates and postgraduates will get Rs 10,000.
Where should one apply?
All details about filling up the application are provided on the PMC website: www.pmc.org. Candidates will have to submit their applications to the Social Development Department and the departments concerned. The last date of application is approaching. Therefore, aspirants will have to hurry up.
What are the posts?
Candidates chosen under the scheme will get a chance to work at various positions. They include mechanic, carpenter, painter, sheet metal work, machine tool repair, junior engineer (architecture), traffic warden, gardener in the Garden Department, horticulture craftsman, sanitary work at ward offices, draftsman, clerk, trainee junior engineer, Disaster Management Department and Environment Department.

Deputy Municipal Commissioner Nitin Udas has appealed to youths to avail themselves of the scheme. He said that the State Government has provided an employment opportunity to youths. Only six days are left to apply. Therefore, aspirants should apply immediately.
