Adv Hemant Zanjad elected as President of Pune Bar Association

Pune: The Pune Bar Association is the apex association of lawyers in the city, which held its annual election for its executive committee, in which Adv Hemant Zanjad was elected as its President, Adv Sameer Bhunde and Adv Surekha Bhosale as the new Vice-Presidents while Adv Prithviraj Thorat and Adv Bhagyashree Gujar as the Secretaries. Adv Indrajit Bhoite was elected as the Treasurer.

Voting took place on Friday (January 31) throughout the day. Counting of votes was done at night. Adv Hemant Zanjad polled 3,329 votes while the rival candidate Adv P Nalawade got 1,714 votes. Adv Zanjad won by 1,615 votes.

Four candidates were contesting for the Vice-President’s two posts. The winners were Adv Sameer Bhunde (3,333) and Adv Surekha Bhosale (1,919). Adv Sagar Gaikwad (1,648) and Adv Vanmala Anuse (1,428) lost the contest.

Five candidates were in the fray for two posts of the Secretary. Adv Prithviraj Thorat (3,174) and Adv Bhagyashree Gujar (3,156) won. Adv Mahendra Dalalkar (786), Adv Ganesh Tharkude (654) and Adv Sushma Yadav (835) lost the poll. Adv Indrajit Bhoite was elected as the Treasurer while Adv Kedar Shitole was elected unopposed as the Auditor.
