Another Close Associate of Dy. CM Fadnavis from Kolhapur Set to Join Sharad Pawar; Kolhapur BJP Unit in Serious Trouble
Pune:
State assembly elections are just a month away, and hence all political parties in the state have begun their preparations accordingly. In the last two elections, the power shift in the state was entirely tilted towards the Bhartiya Janata Party, with many leaders from the other parties joining the BJP.
However, after the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, this trend has changed, with many aggrieved leaders from the BJP now switching to other parties. Amidst this, there is speculation of one more close associate of Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, from Kolhapur to join the Nationalist Congress Party (SP).
A few days ago, Samarjeetsinh Ghatge entered the NCP (SP) party in presence of Sharad Pawar to contest against the sitting NCP MLA from Kagal, Hasan Mushrif. Now, another close associate of Fadnavis, Shivaji Patil, is said to be in contact with Sharad Pawar. It is learnt that soon the BJP leader from Chandgad constituency, Shivaji Patil, will join the NCP (SP) party.
However, after this news, the BJP cadre in Kolhapur is under serious trouble. With many big leaders leaving the party on the face of elections, BJP leaders and activists from Kolhapur are in worry.
Meanwhile, if Shivaji Patil joins the NCP (SP) party, leaving the BJP, it would be a big blow to the BJP ahead of the assembly election.
