Mumbai: The Central Government has appointed Atulchandra Kulkarni, IPS (Retd), as a Member of the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal (MAT), Mumbai branch. Atulchandra Kulkarni’s tenure at the MAT will be four years.

Atulchandra Kulkarni recently retired from the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Atulchandra Kulkarni hails from Madha and joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1990. He served on various posts in Nanded, Jalna, Jalgaon, Buldhana, Mumbai, Bhandara and Nagpur. He also served in the Intelligence Bureau for 11 years.

He was posted at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Additional Director General of Police (Prison) and at the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). During his tenure and leadership at the ATS, 128 wayward youths were reformed and brought into the mainstream.
