Bangladeshi Couple Detained in Pimpri-Chinchwad for Illegally Residing in India; Police Seized Fake Voter ID and Aadhar Cards from Them

In a significant action, the local anti-terrorism squad (ATS) of Pimpri-Chinchwad has apprehended a Bangladeshi husband and wife from Pimpri-Chinchwad. It is learnt that both were working as workers in a hotel in Alandi Phata for the last eight days.

The names of the arrested couple are Tinku Chaudhari and Khadija Khatun. During their investigation, police found fake Aadhaar cards and voter ID cards with them. Both have been handed over to Chakan police for further investigation.

In multiple instances, it has been revealed that illegal migrants from Bangladesh are living in Pimpri-Chinchwad without having proper documentation. Therefore, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has launched a special drive against such illegal migrants. In one of such incidents, police learnt that Bangladeshi couple Tinku Chaudhari and Khadija Khatun were living as workers in a hotel in Alandi Phata.

Accordingly, police raided the hotel and detained both of them. Police found that they had recently shifted to Alandi, and before that they were staying in Hyderabad for the last two years. Police also seized fake Aadhar cards and voter ID cards from them. During the investigation, the couple confessed that they were originally from Bangladesh and had illegally come to India two years ago.

Since both Bangladeshi nationals are residing in the Republic of India illegally, a case has been registered against them at Chakan Police Station under Sections 318(4), 336(2), 336(3), 340(2), and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code 2023, along with Sections 14 (A)(B), 14 (C) of the Foreigners Act 1946, Section 12 (1)(C) of the Passport Act 1967, and Section 3(A) of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules 1950.
