Big Blow to Congress in Palghar: Two Key Leaders Set to Join MNS Ahead of Assembly Elections

Palghar:
As preparations intensify for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, political realignments are in full swing. Seat-sharing arrangements between the two major alliances—Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi—are still pending. Meanwhile, political aspirants are switching sides to the parties that could offer them better chances for nominations.
In the state’s political landscape, Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi remain the two prominent alliances. However, recently, Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje, Raju Shetti, and Bachchu Kadu have formed a third front under the banner of Parivartan Mahashakti. Apart from this, there are other important parties in the state who are not part of any of these groups, such as Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi.
Amid this political reshuffling, reports have surfaced that two prominent Congress officials from Palghar are set to join the MNS. The two leaders, Sachin Shingada and Naresh Korda, are expected to enter into the MNS on October 13.
The MNS, led by Raj Thackeray, had extended unconditional support to the Mahayuti alliance during the recent Lok Sabha elections. However, the party has now resolved to contest the upcoming assembly elections independently and plans to field candidates across all constituencies. As part of its strategy, MNS leaders have been engaging with various political leaders to bolster their campaign.
Sachin Shingada, Vice President of the Congress party in Palghar district, and Naresh Korda will join the MNS, along with other office bearers. Shingada is eyeing the Vikramgad assembly seat, while Korda aims to contest from Palghar.
In Vikramgad, the current MLA is Sunil Bhusara of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which limits Congress’s chances of securing the seat within the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance. As a result, Shingada has opted to align with the MNS. Meanwhile, Korda is preparing to contest in Palghar.
