Bitcoin scam: Ajit Pawar ‘identifies’ sister’s voice, Sule refutes allegations
Pune: City-based former police officer Ravindra Patil has levelled sensational allegations against MPCC President Nana Patole and NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule.
Patil alleged that Patole and Sule used foreign currency and Bitcoins for transactions related to the State Assembly elections.
Later, BJP spokesman and MP Sudhanshu Trivedi held a press meet on Tuesday (November 19) night and provided ‘proof’ of the same. They included call recordings and WhatsApp chat screen shots. It was alleged that Supriya Sule’s voice surfaced in an audio clip. NCP (AP) President, DyCM and State Assembly candidate from Baramati Ajit Pawar reportedly confirmed that it was Sule’s voice.
What did Ajit Pawar say?
Speaking to the media after casting his vote in Baramati, Ajit Pawar said, “I can recognise the voices of two persons heard in the audio clip. One of them is my sister and another is my colleague from the State Assembly, who had worked with us in the MVA. Today, they are my opponents. He was a BJP MP for some time.
“The State Government will probe the matter and the truth will be known.” Ajit Pawar’s reaction assumes significance in the backdrop of the political tussle in the Pawar family. His wife Sunetra Pawar had lost the Lok Sabha election from Baramati against her sister-in-law Supriya Sule. There is again another fight between two Pawar family members in the State Assembly election, during which Ajit Pawar levelled allegations against Sharad Pawar and other family members.
Supriya Sule refutes allegations
MP Sule replied to the allegations after exercising her franchise in the State poll in Baramati. She told the media, “I came to know about the allegations via the media. The first thing I did after receiving the audio clip: I called up Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar. I told him that it was a fake clip recording that was being circulated and I wanted to lodge a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police. He instructed me to lodge it. I filed the complaint online in the evening yesterday. I have stated in it that the so-called recordings and messages are fake.”
NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar’s reaction
Reacting to the development, Sharad Pawar said, “How can one take note of a person who was jailed for some months? In my opinion, one should not even take note of such allegations.
“The BJP has once again shown that it can stoop so low.”
Defamation suit against Sudhanshu Trivedi
Meanwhile, Sule said that she filed a defamation suit against Trivedi. She said, “I have sent a defamation notice to Sudhanshu Trivedi today in the morning. He has asked me five questions and has challenged me to answer them. I am ready to reply to them any time. I will go to any city, any channel that Trivedi chooses and will answer his queries. His every question will have my answer: ‘No’. All his allegations are false. Therefore, I approached the Cyber Crime Police and later, filed the defamation petition.”
