Bitcoin scam: Voice resembles Supriya Sule, thorough probe needed, says Devendra Fadnavis
Nagpur: Serious allegations were levelled against top leaders from both alliances in the State on the eve of State Assembly polling day.
BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde allegedly distributed money in Virar. A case was registered against him and the local BJP candidate. Former police officer Ravindra Patil alleged that NCP MP Supriya Sule and MPCC President Nana Patole used foreign currency and Bitcoins for transactions related to the elections. An audio clip purportedly of their voices was provided as proof by BJP National Spokesman and MP Sudhanshu Trivedi.
DyCM Ajit Pawar identified the voices as of his sister and a leader with whom he worked in the MVA and who was a former BJP MP. DyCM Devendra Fadnavis also reacted to the development.
What did Fadnavis say?
Fadnavis said, “I am of the view that a proper investigation should be conducted into this incident. Truth must be revealed. Because the allegations are serious. It is the right of the people to know the truth after a thorough investigation into them.”
When pointed out that Ajit Pawar identified Supriya Sule’s voice. Fadnavis said, “The voice sounds like Supriya Sule. One can say that it is Supriya Sule. But an impartial probe needs to be conducted. If anyone tampers with a voice sample, artificial intelligence can find it out. The case relates to hundreds of crore worth Bitcoins. We expect the police to crack the case immediately. The case does not relate to the election. It relates to the country’s security.
Is it a coincidence or…
When asked if the Bitcoins case immediately followed the alleged money distribution by Vinod Tawde, Fadnavis said, “I clarified yesterday also that he (Tawde) did not distribute money. Money was not found in his possession. A ruckus was created intentionally.
“Allegations against Supriya Sule and Nana Patole have been levelled by a former IPS officer. He has presented some clips. It is a very serious case. Hence, it needs to be probed thoroughly. The truth must be revealed for the world to see. A report should be published in the case.”
