BJP leader realises his name missing from first list, meets Jarange Patil
Jalna: BJP leader and aspirant Rajendra Maske from Beed district quit his post, party membership and met Maratha quota leader Manoj Jarange Patil on Monday (October 21) as his name did not appear in the BJP’s first list of candidates for the State Assembly elections.
Maske was the District President of the party and is an aspirant from the Beed Assembly segment. As his name did not appear in the first list of party candidates, he resigned and met Jarange Patil.
Announcing his resignation from the party, Rajendra Maske said, “I set up the machinery to campaign for Pankaja Munde during the Lok Sabha election against social odds. I worked hard for her victory. Unfortunately, it pains me to hear doubts expressed after her defeat. They blamed the Maratha community for her defeat. Pankaja Munde promised last year, in the presence of State President Bawankule, that I would get the candidature in the State Assembly poll. However, the party is not bothered as the poll process kicks off.
“This means that the BJP does not need Beed district on its political map. Devendra Fadnavis’s BJP has resolved to strengthen the opposition. The party’s interest has not been considered in the district. It is impossible to work with such leaders. Therefore, I am resigning as the party’s district chief and giving up the primary membership.”
