Bombay High Court Duped: Accused Secure Bail Using Forged Judge’s Order in Pune

Pune : In a shocking case of judicial fraud, accused individuals in a corporate fraud case managed to secure bail by submitting a forged order allegedly signed by a judge. The deception came to light when lawyers representing the affected company, CTR Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., cross-verified the bail order, revealing it to be entirely fake. The case has now triggered hearings in both the Pune court and the Bombay High Court to determine the culprits behind this fraudulent act.
As per the police information, a Pune-based CTR Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. company had submitted a bid for an airport project in 2022. However, when the tender was opened, it was found that its design and diagrams had been allegedly stolen and copied by Chennai-based Easun MR Pvt. Ltd. company with the help of some employees. Following this, CTR filed a complaint at the Pune Airport Police Station in January 2022, leading to the arrest of five individuals, including top officials of Easun MR Pvt. Ltd.—Ravikumar Ramaswamy, Haribhau Chemte, and three others.
According to an exclusive report by Saam TV, in this case, the accused followed the legal process and applied for bail in the Pune Civil Court. They then moved the Bombay High Court for interim relief. However, shockingly, the accused secured bail from the Bombay High Court by submitting a fake order, allegedly signed by a judge.
The forged order, drafted in technical legal language, stated that all charges against the accused had been dropped. To make the fraud appear legitimate, the accused even inscribed the fake order on the charge sheet and forged the signature of the presiding judge from the Pune court.
CTR Manufacturing’s legal team obtained a certified copy of the original court order from Pune, exposing the forgery. Pune Court Judge Waheeda Makandar categorically denied issuing any such order and confirmed that the signature on the forged document was not hers. Realising the gravity of the fraud, CTR’s lawyers immediately approached the Bombay High Court, leading to fresh hearings in this case.
The Bombay High Court has now cancelled the bail granted to the accused and directed the court registrar to file a police complaint regarding the forged documents. The case has raised serious questions about the security of judicial procedures among people.
Speaking in this case, legal experts and former Bar Association president Milind Pawar have termed the case a serious breach of judicial integrity. Pawar stated, “The concerned judges should have taken immediate cognisance of this fraud. They have the right to register an FIR at the nearest police station in such cases.” Legal experts further emphasised that the court itself should have proactively filed a complaint to ensure that such attempts to manipulate the judiciary are dealt with severely.
With the fraud unravelling, the focus has now shifted to identifying those responsible for forging the judge’s signature. The court has left it to the authorities to investigate and unearth the accused behind the fraud. Meanwhile, CTR Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. has demanded a CBI probe into the entire case.
