Clash Erupts Between NCP Factions in Baramati Over Slips With Ajit Pawar’s Clock Symbol Found with Voters
Pune:
A heated exchange took place between two factions of NCP parties in Baramati, where the Nationalist Congress Party showed the voting slips with the sign of the clock, which is a symbol of the NCP Ajit Pawar faction, with voters. Because of this, there is an intense situation in Baramati.
At the polling booth at Balak Mandir in Baramati city, voters arriving at the polling station were found holding slips with a clock symbol in their hands. As soon as the workers of the Nationalist Congress party Sharad Pawar group noticed this, they objected to it. This led to an argument between the two groups, and they started intimidating each other. When Sharmila Pawar, the mother of the NCP (SP) candidate Yugendra Pawar, came to know about this, she immediately reached the scene.
Sharmila Pawar said, “I was told by the activists that we are being threatened and intimidated by opposition. I have found ballot papers with clock symbols on them from voters coming to vote. We will file a written complaint with the concerned authority regarding this. We will also file a complaint regarding the threats. The people threatening us are local office bearers and leaders. Their names will come out soon.”
Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar has also commented on this. He said, “This allegation is false. If it happened, it would have been recorded on the CCTV camera. The Election Commission will see. So far, we have conducted so many elections. But never have our workers made such things. We live in a civilised Maharashtra. Our ideology is that of Shahu Phule Ambedkar. Therefore, my worker will not do this kind of thing. I have strong faith in my worker.”
