Dear sisters may get increased instalment of Rs 2,100 from next Bhau Bhij: BJP
Mumbai: The Maha Yuti won 235 seats in the State Legislative Assembly elections while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) could not even win 50 seats. The MVA defeated the Maha Yuti by winning 31 seats in the Lok Sabha polls not long ago.
It is said the Maha Yuti planned their strategy for the State polls and campaigned in a systematic manner, which saw them routing the opposition. The ruling combine credited their gamechanger scheme, the Ladki Bahin Yojana, for their historic success.
The ruling parties promised beneficiaries to increase the financial aid under the Ladki Bahin Yojana to Rs 2,100 after coming back to power. The women are eagerly waiting for the increased amount to be deposited in their bank accounts.
However, it appears that the increased aid could take another 7-10 months. The State Government announced that the next instalment would be given in November. But they have still not got the instalment.
Meanwhile, Maha Yuti manifesto committee Chairman and senior BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar made an important statement. He indicated that an increased aid of Rs 2,100 under the scheme could be delayed. He freely expressed, to a national English daily, the Maha Yuti’s views on the Ladki Bahin Yojana, the promise of an increased aid and the increased burden on the state exchequer.
Sudhir Mungantiwar’s statements
When asked if they would keep the promise of giving Rs 2,100 under the Ladki Bahin Yojana, he said, “We will fulfil the promise 100 pc. If we do not do it, our image across the country will take a hit. I will write to the Chief Minister that we will have to stick to our word.
“I, as the Chairman of the Maha Yuti’s Manifesto Committee, will not allow the promises to get fed away. Our government is capable of giving Rs 2,100 to each beneficiary. I do not think that any of our alliance partners will object to this. We will discuss whether the increased instalment should be given with retrospective effect from June or from January. We implemented the scheme from Bhau Bij this year. Therefore, we could increase the instalment from Bhau Bij next year.”
