Pune: The BJP is ready to deal another blow to the Shiv Sena (UBT) following the latter’s defeat in the State Assembly polls. Some former corporators from the Shiv Sena (UBT) from the city are likely to join the BJP ahead of the civic polls.

It may be a big blow for Uddhav Thackeray. As many as five former corporators would soon cross over to the BJP. All parties are preparing for the local self-government elections. The BJP is likely to deal the first blow to the Thackeray-led party before the civic elections.

Sources said that the five local Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders will join the BJP in Mumbai on January 5. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be present. Among the five former corporators are Bala Oswal and Vishal Dhanvade.

Opportunity in another party

The number of aspirants within the BJP and those joining from outside will be higher in the backdrop of a massive win for the party in the State Assembly polls. The five former corporators from the Shiv Sena (UBT) will enter the BJP on January 5.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) received a big setback in Pune district during the State Assembly elections. The BJP is ready to trounce the Shiv Sena (UBT) in local polls as well. The five former corporators joining the BJP is seen as a beginning of the loss.

Five former corporators from the Shiv Sena (UBT) joining the Shiv Sena (UBT) will prove a booster dose for the BJP while it may cripple the Uddhav Thackeray-led party.
