Election Commission’s big decision, DGP Rashmi Shukla removed from her post
Mumbai: The MPCC had demanded that DGP Rashmi Shukla should be transferred from her current position in the backdrop of the State Assembly elections.
Earlier, Shukla was booked in the phone tapping scandal, in which she had allegedly tapped phones of opposition leaders in the State. Considering this, her immediate transfer was demanded. The State Congress wrote a letter to CEC Rajiv Kumar in this regard.
Rashmi Shukla retired from the service in June 2024. But the Maha Yuti government illegally extended her service till January 2026, alleged MPCC President Nana Patole. He accused her of a controversial tenure. Patole also alleged that she was making illegal decisions and was threatening opposition leaders.
Finally, Shukla has been removed from her post. The ECI made the big decision following the allegations against her by the Congress. The State Assembly elections are underway. On the one hand, the poll campaign is picking up momentum while on the other hand, the ECI has transferred Rashmi Shukla.
