Former NCP Corporator’s Son Involved in Drunk Driving Accident in Pune

Pune: Saurabh Gaikwad, son of former NCP corporator Bandu Gaikwad, was involved in an accident on Tuesday morning after allegedly consuming alcohol. The incident occurred at Z Corner on Manjari-Mundhwa Road, resulting in injuries to both Saurabh Gaikwad and the driver and cleaner of a tempo transporting chickens.

The accident happened around 5 AM as Saurabh Gaikwad was driving his Harrier car towards his home in Mundhwa. Reportedly under the influence of alcohol, Gaikwad collided with the oncoming poultry farm tempo, causing injuries to himself and the tempo’s occupants.

A case has been registered against Saurabh Gaikwad in connection with the incident. His father, Bandu Gaikwad, currently serves as a member of Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
