Heartbreaking Murder in Khamgaon: 23 years old man killed amidst family feud
Yavat: A shocking and tragic incident unfolded in Khamgaon-Gadamodi, Daund taluka, where a young man was brutally murdered, and his grieving mother was left in utter devastation.
The victim, Suraj Rahul Bhujbal, a 23-year-old resident of Khamgaon, was fatally attacked by Amit Jaywant Bahirat (24) and Samir Jaywant Bahirat (22). The incident stemmed from a violent family dispute involving Suraj’s sister, Sanjana, who had married Amit Bahirat a year and a half ago.
Sanjana, who had been subjected to physical and emotional abuse by Amit due to his alcohol addiction, returned to her parental home after enduring relentless torment. Despite her departure, Amit continued to harass her, prompting her to file a complaint at the Yawat police station. During a settlement meeting, Amit demanded 5 lakh rupees to consent to the divorce and threatened Suraj’s mother with dire consequences.
On the fateful day, while Suraj was at his cloth shop, Amit and Samir Bahirat attacked him, resulting in his death. The scene was heart-wrenching as Suraj’s mother, overwhelmed by grief, cradled her son’s bloodied body and threw the blood towards the police, demanding justice before she would allow them to touch her child’s remains.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Annasaheb Gholap and Assistant Police Inspector Pravin Sange visited the crime scene. Both suspects have been apprehended and are in custody. Suraj’s mother expressed her anguish, stating that timely intervention by the police might have prevented her son’s murder.
