I did not blame EVM after Lok Sabha poll results: Ajit Pawar
Baramati: DyCM Ajit Pawar has replied to the opposition criticism of alleged misuse of EVMs in the State polls. He said, ”The Maha Yuti got less seats in the Lok Sabha elections. But we did not blame the EVM then. We searched for the reasons behind our poor show and started working afresh. We launched various schemes for all strata of society. Instead of criticising the opposition, we spread awareness about these schemes among the people.”
He clarified that he never expected to get such a massive mandate. A public felicitation of Ajit Pawar was organised in Baramati for getting elected for the eight consecutive term and becoming DyCM for the sixth time. He was replying to the felicitation. MLA Amol Mitkari, MP Sunetra Pawar, Parth Pawar, NCP (AP) Taluka President Rajvardhan Shinde and City Unit President Jay Patil were present.
Ajit Pawar said, “We were worried after the Lok Sabha poll results. However, voters gave us a thumping majority. The Maha Yuti’s Ladki Bahin Yojana became very popular. I walk the talk. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) could not digest the Maha Yuti’s victory. Therefore, they started blaming the EVM.
“The Baramatikars elected me with a margin of over one lakh votes. Now, my responsibility has grown. I will try to carry out the big responsibility successfully. I am handling the Finance portfolio and will present the State Budget considering the aspirations of the people. Care will be taken to not disturb the financial discipline of the State.
“Night landing of aircraft is currently not possible at many airports in the State. The facility will be provided at the airports in Baramati, Latur and Yavatmal in the near future.”
