Indapur MLA Dattatray Bharne Refuses Police Protection; Said, “People Are My Security”
Pune:
The result for the recent assembly election was declared, and the NCP’s Dattatray Bharne emerged victorious from Indapur, defeating Harshavardhan Patil of the NCP (SP) and the independent candidate, Pravin Mane. However, after being elected as an MLA, Dattatray Bharne has refused to accept the police protection provided by the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Office.
The Pune Rural Superintendent of Police had provided him with two armed bodyguards for his protection. However, Bharne refused to accept the police protection. This shows that the real secret of his success is his constant contact with the people and his easy accessibility to them.
While speaking on his decision, Bharne said, “The entire Indapur taluka is my family. The people are my security shield. I do not feel the need for any kind of security while living in the family.”
Dattatray Bharne has secured a hat trick of being elected as an MLA. In 2014, he was first elected as an MLA by defeating Harshavardhan Patil. Since then, Bharne has been continuously representing the Indapur constituency for more than 10 years. Therefore, his easy accessibility to people makes him people’s true representative.
