‘Insta Queen’ Punjab Cop Dismissed After Being Caught With Heroin

Chandigarh: Punjab Police have dismissed senior woman constable Amandeep Kaur after she was caught with 17.71 grams of heroin. Her arrest came amidst the ongoing state-wide anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh’ and followed a tip-off.
Kaur was arrested in Bathinda near the Badal flyover, where the police and Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) intercepted her Mahindra Thar SUV. Deputy Superintendent of Police Harbans Singh Dhaliwal stated, “During a joint operation, we stopped the vehicle and found Amandeep Kaur along with a man named Jaswant Singh. A search revealed 17.71 grams of heroin.”
At the time of her arrest, Kaur was posted with Mansa Police and attached to the Bathinda Police Lines. She has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Social Media Fame: ‘Insta Queen’
Amandeep Kaur, known on Instagram as “police_kaurdeep,” had gained popularity for her reels featuring her Mahindra Thar, often in police uniform, sporting sunglasses, luxury watches, and using a high-end iPhone. She had over 37,000 followers. Her videos often featured Punjabi music, including songs by the late singer Sidhu Moosewala, with captions demanding justice for him.
The Punjab DGP had earlier issued a directive discouraging police personnel from posting videos “modeling in uniform,” a guideline that Kaur appears to have flouted.
Authorities are now investigating the origin of the heroin and Amandeep Kaur’s intended destination.
