It was said that Eknath Shinde was not happy for the past 2-3 days. On Wednesday, he put forth a proposal that Devendra Fadnavis be made the Chief Minister.

Later, Fadnavis said, “We have requested Eknath Shinde to join our government.” Journalists asked Shinde if he would join the cabinet, Shinde replied, “Please, have patience till the evening. Whether I or Ajitdada would take an oath would be known soon.”

As soon as Shinde completed his statement, Ajit Pawar said, “I don’t know about him. But I will definitely take an oath tomorrow. I will not wait.”

Pat came the reply from Shinde: “Dada is experienced in oath-taking. He is always ready. He has experience of oath-taking in the evening as well as in the morning (with an oblique reference to his oath-taking at the daybreak in the past. The government survived 72 hours).”

Returning the volley, Ajit Pawar said, “Last time, we could not continue further. But this time, we will survive for a full term of five years.”
