Pune: Heavy rain has been going on in Pune city and district for the past few days. Rain has also made a heavy presence in the dam that supplies water to the city of Pune, and currently the Khadakwasla dam chain area is 92.58 percent full. So 26.99 TMC of water has accumulated in the dam area.

It is raining heavily in the dam area. Against this backdrop, 25 thousand cusecs of water have been released from Khadakwasla Dam into the river bed. Due to this, there have been incidents of water entering the houses in the riverside societies in the Sinhagad Road area.

Within the gap of 10 days, yesterday, the Ektanagar area was once again submerged under the water after heavy downpours continued in Pune city. This caused inundation in the low-lying areas of Pune city, including the Ektanagar area of Pune.

In this background, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde cancelled his pre-planned Delhi visit today and interacted with the citizens of Ektanagar on Sinhagad Road. At that time, a little boy was holding a placard, saying, ‘Eknath uncle, please build us a wall.’

The boy carrying this placard was attracting everyone’s attention. At that time, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde interacted with that boy. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured the little boy that he would definitely try to build the wall.
