Major Crackdown ! Lonavala Police Arrest 16 Accused in Three Operations, Seize Goods Worth Rs 5.83 Lakh Including Narcotics

In a significant action, the Lonavala police have arrested 16 people in three separate operations and seized goods worth Rs 5,83,962 from them.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Satya Sai Karthik received information that some people were gambling in Joshwood Bungalow in Tungarli. Accordingly, the police raided the place. At that time, 13 people were gambling there. In this regard, the police have registered a case against them.

The names of those accused are Avinash Prakash Lohar (age 32, a resident of Hadko Colony, Lonavala), Akash Dashrath Pardeshi (age 52, a resident of Gawliwada, Lonavala), Bajirao Gangaram Mawkar (age 39, a resident of Tungarli, Lonavala), Shekhar Ramdas Bodke (age 30, a resident of New Tungarli, Lonavala), Suraj Ganpat Lohat (age 27, a resident of Gawliwada, Lonavala), Ajay Gajanan Ghadi (age 58, a resident of Kamshet), Sanjay Prabhakar Kadam (age 59, a resident of Khandala, Lonavala), Shankar Vasant Sakat (age 35, a resident of Bhaskar Nagar, Ambarnath, Thane), Vinod Maruti Dhule (age 44, a resident of Bara Bungalow, Lonavala), Maqdoom Gani Sheikh (age 33, a resident of Dehu Road), Cyril Samsundar Mojes (age 48, a resident of Dehu Road), Sagar Shyam Pawar (age 35, a resident of Gawliwada, Lonavala), and Vikas Bhimaji Pailwan (age 32, resident of Gawliwada, Lonavala), the owner of Joshwood Bungalow.

In a separate action, the police arrested two individuals and seized 15 kg of wet ganja with seeds worth Rs 60,512 from them. As per the information, Assistant Superintendent of Police Satya Sai Karthik received a tip-off that two persons were going to Mumbai from Sambhajinagar on a Unicorn motorcycle to sell drugs. Accordingly, the police set up a blockade near the Varsoli toll plaza and detained two persons who came on the motorcycle at 5 a.m.

The names of those accused are Akshay Gopinath Jadhav (age 25) and Pralhad Asaram Jadhav (age 34), both residents of Aase village, Gangapur, Sambhajinagar district. Upon further search, police found 15 kg of wet ganja with seeds worth Rs 60,512 in their sack. Along with that, police seized a motorcycle worth Rs 1 lakh from them.

Further, police learnt that a person was selling mephedrone powder in Lonavala. Based on the news, the police arrested Taban Zair Pathan (age 28, a resident of Irani Chawl, Lonavala). In the subsequent frisking, Mephedrone powder weighing 3.62 grams worth Rs 15,000 was found in his possession.

A total of 16 accused have been arrested in these three separate operations, and goods worth Rs 5,83,962 have been seized from these accused.

This action was taken by the team of Lonavala Sub-Division Assistant Superintendent of Police Satya Sai Karthik including Assistant Police Inspector Santosh Jadhav, Police Constable Nitesh (Bunty) Kawade, Ankush Naikude, Datta Shinde, Ankush Pawar, Amol Taware, and Pardhi under the guidance of Pune Rural Police Force Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh and Additional Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chopade.
