Pune :
A shocking incident took place in Pune, where a 34-year-old woman was repeatedly raped against her will, alluring her marriage promise. Further, when the woman got pregnant, the accused forced her to have an abortion by threatening to kill her seven-year-old son. The accused did not stop here, as he repeatedly kept sexual relations with a woman after that against her will.
In this case, a shocking fact has come to light. In spite of registering a case against the accused Dattatray Suresh Kalbhor (age 43, a resident of Odina Jain Society, LMD Chowk, Bavdhan) in this case, police have still not arrested the accused. This has raised several questions on police actions.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, in 2022, the victim and the accused, Dattatray Kalbhor, were introduced to each other through a common friend. After that, Dattatray repeatedly lured the victim by saying, “I like you very much; I will marry you.” The victim refused him, saying that her husband and she had a divorce case in the court, and furthermore, the accused was also married. On this, the accused Dattatray Kalbhor assured her that he was also giving a divorce to his wife, and then he would marry her.
After this, the accused took the victim to a hotel in the Baner area and demanded physical pleasure from her. When the victim resisted him, he forcibly kept physical relations with her by threatening to defame her in society and would not keep her son alive. After that, the victim became pregnant twice due to repeated physical relations with the accused.
Shockingly, the accused took the victim to a private hospital in the Kothrud area twice and aborted her. The plaintiff further complained that the accused forged signatures on her abortion papers in the hospital.
After a few days, when the victim asked the accused about the marriage, he gave her vague answers. Therefore, the victim rushed to the police station and filed a complaint against the accused. The victim said that the police have not arrested the accused Dattatray Kalbhor even after 20 days of registering the case, which raises questions about the police’s work. Assistant Police Inspector Prema Patil is investigating the case further.
