Pune: Manoj Jarange Patil has issued a stern warning to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), predicting that the party will suffer its most significant setback in the upcoming 2024 elections. Patil, who has been vocal on various issues, particularly Maratha reservation, suggested that BJP will regret its actions leading up to the elections.

Speaking at a recent event, Patil criticized Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, highlighting his offer to resign on two occasions. “If Fadnavis has offered to resign twice, it indicates a fault on their part,” Patil said, questioning the current government’s approach to the Maratha community. He urged the community to disregard comments made by Chhagan Bhujbal and accused Fadnavis of opposing their movement.

Patil also responded to recent comments made by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who suggested that certain obstacles had prevented decisions on Maratha reservation. Fadnavis, in a bold statement, claimed that he would resign and retire from politics if any impediments were proven. Shinde backed Fadnavis, which led to a sharp retort from Patil.

“Some BJP officials have privately admitted feeling betrayed by their own party,” Patil alleged. He warned the party that they would face the consequences in 2024. “Mark my words, the biggest regret of your life will come in the 2024 elections,” Patil stated emphatically.

In addition to his political predictions, Patil also expressed frustration with the treatment of the state’s farmers and the Maratha community. He warned the government to take appropriate action or face the consequences, particularly singling out Fadnavis for attempting to “bully” them. He also hinted at the possible defeat of certain Maratha community MLAs in the upcoming elections.

Patil’s remarks are likely to stir political discourse as Maharashtra heads towards the 2024 elections, with the Maratha reservation issue and other community concerns remaining in sharp focus.
