Meteorological Department Gave ‘Yellow Alert’ for Pune District for Next Three Days; Advised Caution
Pune: The Meteorological Department issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for Pune city on July 27. The meteorological department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in the ghat area and light to moderate rainfall in the plain areas of the district.
However, the next three days will be comparatively moderate, as according to the weather forecast, the meteorological department issued a “Yellow Alert’ for Pune on the 28th, 29th, and 30th of July. Furthermore, there is also a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Ghat area along with the city during these three days.
Currently, heavy rain has lashed many parts of the state. Two days ago, excess water was released from the Khadakwasla dam due to heavy rains in Pune, which caused a significant issue of waterlogging in many parts of the districts. In the midst of reduced rainfall in the dam areas, the discharge of water from the Khadakwasla dam has been closed since last night.
