Mumbai: The Bombay High Court (HC) has rejected the default bail petition of the accused in the notorious gangster Sharad Mohol murder case. The decision was announced by the HC bench comprising Justice Bharati Dangre and Justice Majusha Deshpande.

Accused Sahil alias Munna Polekar and others appealed against MCOCA Special Judge VR Kachre’s decision to extend the deadline for filing of the charge sheet and to reject their bail application.

The accused appealed against the prosecution’s application filed in the Special Court to extend the deadline for filing of the charge sheet. The Special Public Prosecutor stated that the application was legal and there was no ambiguity in it.

Judge Kachre ruled that the points made in the application to extend the deadline for filing of the charge sheet were composite. The reasons given for the extension of deadline and the investigation by the Investigation Officer were appropriate. He refused to interfere in the directive to extend the deadline.

Moreover, the default bail application of the accused was also junked. The accused appealed in the HC against this decision. Public Prosecutor Adv Parmod Bombatkar is representing the government in the MCOCA Special Court. HS Venegaonkar represented the prosecution in the HC.
