National Symposium on Hand Surgery in Pune
Pune: The National Symposium on Hand Surgery is set to take place on July 26, 27, and 28, 2024, in Pune at the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute on Law College Road. This prestigious event, convened by renowned hand surgeon Dr. Pankaj Jindal, will bring together doctors from across the country. The symposium will cover a comprehensive range of topics related to hand surgery. It will focus on managing hand injuries, including fractures, and will also discuss how to avoid, analyze, and treat complications.
This three-day national symposium is organized by Hand Surgery India in association with the Indian Orthopedic Association, Maharashtra Orthopedic Association, Pune Orthopedic Society, and Pimpri-Chinchwad Orthopedic Association.
The symposium will also address congenital hand deformities (those present at birth) and those acquired due to accidents. A special feature will be the restoration of thumbs in children born without them. The event will cover the correction of hand contractures (stiffness) caused by burns and injuries, and discussions will include the reconstruction of amputated fingers. Managing hand pain due to various causes, such as arthritis, to help patients lead pain-free lives will also be a key topic.
Additional sessions will address tingling and numbness in the hand, paralysis caused by brain or nerve injuries, and spasticity in children with cerebral palsy. A special session on neglected hand trauma will focus on patients who did not receive optimal treatment early on. Additionally, conditions like painful bluish fingers due to rheumatological issues will be discussed.
Over three days, the symposium will feature intense discussions on 80 topics, focusing purely on academic content to benefit medical professionals and, ultimately, their patients.
