Navi Mumbai: Pahalgam attack survivor from Navi Mumbai narrates chilling incident

Navi Mumbai: A survivor in the Pahalgam terror attack has shared chilling details of the incident as he was injured but escaped the carnage.
Navi Mumbai-based Subodh Patil said, “We heard a commotion behind us but were not able to confirm what it exactly was. The commotion continued and we saw people running helter-skelter. We also got scared and started running. Some people were sitting along a road, where we halted too. Suddenly, a terrorist arrived there and asked all Hindus to stand up. Then he started firing indiscriminately. I collapsed after a few bullets hit me.
“I gained consciousness after many hours. I saw bodies lying around. The local man who brought me to the Baisaran meadows recognised me. He offered me water and shifted me on his back and later on a bike. Jawans gave me first aid and they admitted me to hospital. Then I was taken to the Army Hospital in a helicopter. I was treated there for seven days.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan continued to violate the ceasefire for the seventh consecutive day on the Line of Control in Jammu-Kashmir. Firing started on the day India cancelled the Sindhu Water Treaty on April 24. This was revealed by a defence spokesperson.
Union Minister Amit Shah said the central government led by PM Narendra Modi has resolved to root out terrorism from the country. If those who launched the cowardly attack think that it was their victory, they should bear in mind that this is Narendra Modi government, which will not let them go unpunished.
